This session will provide both professional and academic staff an overview of UQ's responsibility toward students with a disability or medical condition, the role of Student Services and how they can assist you, and strategies on how to support students in the Diversity, Disability and Inclusion space.
This course will enable participants to:
1. Understand their rights and responsibilities in supporting students with a disability or medical condition;
2. Incorporate disability, diversity and inclusive practices in the classroom and/or in decision-making processes;
3. Receive information and guidance on communicating with diverse students; and
4. Develop an understanding of Mental Health and how to support students with behavioural and mental health concerns.
