Seminar room, St Lucia campus.
This course will provide work group leaders and safety coordinators with knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries and risk factors associated with manual tasks and the skills to identify assess and control the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in their local areas. Use of the Participative Ergonomics for Manual Tasks Risk Management tool (PEforM) will be a focus of the session.
This course will enable participants to:
1. Communicate regulatory responsibilities under the Hazardous Manual Tasks Code of Practice
2. Identify and assess musculoskeletal injury risk factors for manual tasks using
3. Implement control measures using hierachy of controls to minimise the risk of injury
4. Educate team members and co-workers about managing risks for manual tasks.
