The carriage of Dangerous Goods Class chemicals by University Staff and Post Graduate candidates can only be achieved through prescribed training, skills and awareness under the current requirements of the 'Australian Dangerous Goods Code of Practice for Transport by Road and Rail' Seventh edition.
Dangerous Goods are transported daily by University people in everyday duties by Staff in the Chemical Store, Property & Facilities, and School staff through to field work and travel. There are obligations, limits and emergency contingencies to be followed. Without these, you may be at risk.
Prerequisite: Emergency Procedures for Hazardous Materials.
This course will enable participants to:
1. be aware of their legal obligations
2. identify and segregate incompatible Dangerous Goods within the vehicle
3. know how much can be transported
4. be aware of and initiate emergency procedures and spill clean-ups.
