Leadership begins with self-leadership and demonstrating this in your current role can support your future career development.
This course is for staff at HEW levels 1 to 4 who are serious about their learning and are prepared to make changes to the way they work with others.
It will help you develop your self-awareness, your communication and relationship-building skills, and help you set goals to become more satisfied and productive in your job.
Action learning is a foundation of this course. You will be expected to complete self-directed activities in between the three sessions. This action learning approach allows you to practice what you learn outside of the training room and reflect upon your successes.
This course will enable participants to:
1. Identify leadership behaviours and opportunities to demonstrate leadership at your level.
2. Understand your own and others' personality preferences, and appreciate diversity in personality
3. Use communication tools to enhance workplace relationships
4. Understand the capabilities that make up emotional intelligence, and your own strengths and weaknesses
5. Create goals and an action plan for your personal and professional development.
This workshop runs over 3 non-consecutive 1/2 days. You must attend all 3 dates. Full course details are included on the registration (EOI) form. One course will be run in each semester.

Once all applications have been assessed the course coordinator will advise if your EOI has been successful.
