Whatever your job involves, you are a writer. Is your writing clear, concise, and convincing? With some practice, it can be. This course will show you how you can make lasting improvements to your writing skills.
There will be two course offerrings in 2017 running over 4 non-consecutive dates as per below:
Day 1/4 - 09 April 18 - 2pm to 4pm
Day 2/4 - 16 April 18 - 2pm to 3.30pm
Day 3/4 - 23 April 18 - 2pm to 3.30pm
Day 4/4 - 30 April 18 - 2pm to 3.30pm
Day 1/4 - 06 Aug 18 - 2pm to 4pm
Day 2/4 - 13 Aug 18 - 2pm to 3.30pm
Day 3/4 - 20 Aug 18 - 2pm to 3.30pm
Day 4/4 - 30 Aug 18 - 2pm to 3.30pm - Please note - Day 4 of 2nd iteration is held at International House Seminar room
Your confidence will grow through hands-on exercises tailored to your writing needs, and you will receive peer feedback. In the first session, you will learn about the principles underpinning effective writing, and practice your skills with short exercies. In the following three sessions, you will complete writing tasks and learn how to edit your work. These writing tasks can be tailored to your role and the type of writing you do regularly (or would like to learn more about).
Your course guide will contact you before the course starts to ask you about your writing experience. During these sessions you will also learn how to provide effective feedback on your peers' writing, and you will receive both peer feedback and individual feedback from your course guide.
This course will help you to:
1. write clearly so your message is understood
2. provide a better customer experience
3. be more confident in your writing skills.
