In accordance with The University of Queensland Disability Action Plan 2018-2021, this workshop provides staff with an understanding of disability, best practice inclusive practices, accessibility considerations, UQ procedure for reasonable adjustment for staff and the management of temporary disabilities.
The Workshop covers the legislative framework that the University operates, and provides an overview of the University policies and procedures supporting staff with disability. Managers and supervisors will also be provided with information on best practice inclusive leadership and management.
This course will enable participants to:
1. Develop an understanding of disability;
2. Understand the importance of inclusive management;
3. Develop an understanding of the relevant legislation and UQ Policies and Procedures
relating to disability;
4. Develop an understanding of inclusive and accessible practices that can be implemented
in the workplace.
