This course is recommended for laboratory researchers, animal house technicians, workshop staff, grounds workers and other persons who are required to use PPE.
This course provides an overview of the different types of personal protective equipment available, how to choose the appropriate protection, what the legislation requires in terms of PPE provision, and guidance on what to purchase for particular operations.
The course consists of theory and practical sessions, including case studies and demonstrations.
Types of Personal Protective Equipment discussed throughout the course include respiratory protection, hearing protection, skin protection and eye protection.
This course will enable participants to:
Determine appropriate PPE for workplace hazards in accordance with PPL 2.30.05 - Personal Protective Equipment and Minimum Standards of Dress.
