Provide First Aid (HLTAID011), is a nationally accredited training course endorsed by the Australian Skills Quality authority. It provides participants with the skills to administer First Aid in the workplace and other situations.
The course requires a 1 day of practical classroom activities with prior online learning.
This course will include the following competencies:

- The basic structure of the human body
- Management of severe illness
- Practical treatment of burns, bites, stings, poisoning and internal injuries
- First aid management of broken bones, bleeding, eye injuries and hypothermia
- First aid management for head, abdominal and chest injuries

This training also incorporates the competency licence for Provide CPR (HLTAID009). Provide First Aid training licence (HLTAID011) is valid for 3 years. Provide CPR (HLTAID009) component is valid for 1 year. First Aid Officers must renew CPR training on an annual basis.
First Aid training is a mandatory requirement for nominated first aid officers and to other staff if first aid is part of their role requirement. Supervisors must assess the risk of injury that may occur in the workplace and determine the first aid training requirements. Refer to PPL 2.60.20.
