This training is for researchers intending to use existing PC3 facilities at UQ for the first time.
Authorisation is required by both the biosafety advisor (firstname.lastname@example.org) and the PC3 facility supervisor before training will be provided. The training provides information and skills, and determines competency of an individual in order for them to conduct specified work on risk group 3 infectious microorganisms within PC3 facilities administered by UQ IBC.
This course will enable participants to:
1. Understand their legal obligations for working in a PC3 facility certified by the
Office of Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR)
2. Understand the function and requirements of a certified (OGTR) PC3 facility
3. Gain access to a relevant UQ PC3 laboratory after both theory and practical training
has been completed, health surveillance established and competency assessed.
