This course follows on from the Unconscious Bias Online Modules. You will need to complete these prior to enrolling in this course, and come prepared with your Cognicity Unconscious Knowledge & Bias Assessment results.
The aim of this workshop is to consolidate learning about Unconscious Bias and provide staff with practical skills and techniques to address and manage unconscious bias in decision making processes in the workplace.
This program is particularly recommended to all staff who are involved in recruitment and selection, performance management and promotion processes; however, it will be applicable to any staff member.
This Workshop supports the University's commitment to the SAGE initiatives of the Athena SWAN program.
This course will enable participants to:
1. provide an overview of unconscious bias;
2. identify potential risk areas for unconscious bias in the workplace
3. address and manage unconscious bias with an aim to reducing and removing unconscious
bias in the workplace
4. develop inclusive management skills.
