The Contract Cheating - Evidence Gathering and Report Preparation workshop is aimed at Academic Integrity Officers, ADAs and professional staff who provide support to AIOs. The ITaLI eLearning team will cover practical strategies on how to identify possible cases of ‘contract cheating’ during the marking process. Gathering evidence in suspected cases of ‘contract cheating’ using the Turnitin Authorship tool will also be covered.

The Student Complaints and Grievance Resolution Unit will cover how to use evidence obtained during a preliminary investigation, specifically from a Turnitin Authorship Report, to prepare for a preliminary meeting with a student in a suspected case of 'contract cheating'. We will discuss how to plan for preliminary meetings and how to formulate questions before and during a meeting. The Unit will also cover how to prepare a preliminary investigation report for cases of academic misconduct.

This course will enable participants to:

1. Identify possible indications of contract cheating during the marking process.

2.  Use the Turnitin Authorship Report to review and gather evidence in suspected cases of 'contract cheating'.

3. Prepare for a preliminary meeting with a student in a suspected case of 'contract cheating'.

4. Prepare a preliminary investigation report for cases of academic misconduct.
